Everything you need to know
Is walking enough exercise?
Yes. The WHO recommends 150 minutes of moderate activity per week, and brisk walking counts. Interval walking is even more effective — studies show it improves cardiovascular fitness, leg strength, and blood pressure more than steady-pace walking at the same duration.
What is interval walking?
Interval walking alternates between periods of easy and brisk walking. The Japanese Interval Walking method uses 3-minute cycles: 3 minutes slow, 3 minutes fast, repeated for 20–30 minutes. The music in your playlist handles the pacing — slow songs for easy pace, fast songs for brisk.
How often should I walk?
3–4 times per week is the sweet spot backed by research. That's enough to build fitness without burnout. Most studies showing significant health improvements used 4 sessions per week over 2–5 months.
Do I need special equipment?
Just comfortable shoes and headphones. Walk outside, on a treadmill, around your neighborhood — wherever works for you.
What is DJ Walk?

It measures your walking pace in real time and picks songs from your Apple Music library that match your tempo — so the beat tells you when to speed up and slow down. The workout generator on this page gives you a static plan; DJ Walk makes it dynamic and personalized every time. Sign up below for early access.
